The Miracle Recovery of Sheru: From Paralyzed Hit-and-Run to Running on Wheels

Sheru was discovered abandoned near an open drainage pit on Gwarighat Road following a heavy midnight rainstorm. He had been struck by a speeding vehicle and suffered a severe thoracolumbar spinal trauma, losing motor function in both hind limbs.

Tenacious Intensive Care

With round-the-clock corticosteroid infusions, nerve regeneration supplements, and daily hydrotherapy massages conducted by volunteer student interns from local veterinary colleges, Sheru slowly began wagging his tail by week three.

Today, equipped with a lightweight custom wheeled cart engineered at our sanctuary workshop, Sheru joyfully greets every sanctuary visitor and plays with rescued puppies every afternoon.
